Jennifer DeMastrie, OTR/L

Jennifer is a registered and licensed Occupational Therapist specializing in meeting the developmental needs of children. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree from the University of New England in Biddeford, ME. Her passion for working with children has led her to focus on pediatrics for the past 25 years. Jennifer has gained valuable experience in various settings, including outpatient clinics, home health care, the public school system (preschool through elementary), and private practice.


In her role, Jennifer has worked with children facing challenges such as fine motor, visual motor, and visual perceptual delays, as well as developmental delays, sensory processing issues, Autism spectrum disorder, neurological disorders, cerebral palsy, and feeding difficulties. She is modality certified and has received specialized training in areas including SOS feeding, hand therapy, visual deficits, sensory processing therapy, NDT, and kinesio taping.


Outside of work, Jennifer and her husband enjoy family time with their two children and their Australian Shepherd, Milo. She also loves working out, running, attending Broadway musicals, and cheering for the Braves.

About Pediatric Occupational Therapy at Lighting the Way OT

Diagnoses that Occupational Therapists may treat:

Children with developmental needs may face challenges such as ADD/ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Apraxia, Cerebral Palsy and other neurological disorders, coordination difficulties, developmental delay, Down Syndrome and other chromosomal anomalies, fine motor delay, handwriting difficulties, hypotonia, feeding difficulties, and issues related to premature infants. Occupational therapy for children can play a crucial role in addressing these challenges, including sensory processing therapy to help manage sensory processing disorder effectively.
